| Caption : | One of the most elusive of all mammals in Glacier Bay is the wolverine (Gulo gulo). While these creatures have a reputation for being vicious, they are primarily scavengers that cover many miles each day in search of carrion. Of course, given the opportunity, they will kill live prey. In my fifteen years of careful observation, I’ve only seen three. This one is seen with its nose close to the ground, searching for the scent of its next meal. |
