Caption : I like to walk on ice... it's not that hard, the walking part – the glacier ice, now that's hard. With a set of crampons on my boots I feel more secure than on some steep slopes in forests. Crampon points dig right in and before you know it you are walking up steep ice slopes and across icy ridges. Amanda – and this was her first time on crampons – is standing at the edge of a 'moulin' – a hole in the ice where water running across the glacier plunges down into the interior of the glacier, eventually draining beneath the glacier to Muir Inlet.
