Caption : Two days of backpacking reward these hikers with a dramatic view of an iceberg-studded lake fringing the massive Brady Glacier. Lakes like this are created when a glacier dams a drainage channel. Water rises until it finds a way under or around the glacier or takes another outlet. When the water in this lake reached the visible 'bathtub ring' it flowed over a lip and out a valley in the left foreground of the photo. Since then, glacial movement opened a channel under the ice, partially draining the lake and releasing a torrent of water downstream along the glacial margin.
