| Caption : | St. Michael's Cathedral is a cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church at Lincoln and Matsoutoff Streets in Sitka. It has been a National Historic Landmark since 1962, notable as an exhibit of Russian influence in North America. A fire destroyed the cathedral during the night of January 2, 1966, but the cathedral was subsequently rebuilt. In this shot there is an immature bald eagle sitting atop one of the crosses. |
