Caption : | There is something about the graceful wound up energy of the Sitka blacktail deer that makes you want to be still so as not to send it bounding off back into the forest. I sometimes see them peering out the bushes from our kitchen window and I freeze, wanting them to stay. Their tall ears flick and turn, responding to sounds I can’t hear. My eyes follow as long as they can, but the deer always vanishes. |
