in Museums, Paris
I happened to walk by the former French Mint (was in Paris, now moved somewhere bigger and cheaper for higher production volume). It's a very interesting museum that shows how the coins were designed, made, and even goes into each metal's pros and cons, as well as the history of coins over French history. Quite fascinating.
original old equipment, not used anymore
a cool artifact is they had an original KG prototype #17, used to verify that the main one, wasn't losing weight
movie that showed how coins are made today
an artist was working on this big model
the big model goes on the right, and is used to make the target size small coin model on the left
